Are you that friend who always organizes everything? Are you structured, do you have good social and communication skills, can you deal with stressful situations and above all: do you love theatre? We are looking for an enthusiastic Stage Manager for our next production.
What does a Stage Manager do?
As our Stage Manager, you will work closely with both the director and the producer of the play and you will be responsible for the smooth execution of our production. Do not worry: you will not have to do everything alone: in this role, you will lead the production team. Your team’s tasks include the organization of our auditions and to make sure the performance days run smoothly. The Stage Manager will be running communications and will be the central contact person for the director, actors and other crew members. Furthermore, he or she will be responsible for arranging and handling costumes, props and sets (in communication with the director).
It is important that you are available from August 2018 to March 2019. Since we are a small theatre foundation, we cannot offer you any payment. However, we will of course compensate travel costs and other costs you will have to make for this production. It would be a big plus if you have a driver’s licence, since a lot of things need to be picked up and transported for the performances. Furthermore, because of the responsibilities of the production team and the things you have to organize during the performance days, you will not be able to join our cast as an actor. However, you can definitely combine this position with your job or studies. Furthermore, you and your fellow production team members will really be part of the group since you will be involved in many productional activities (like rehearsals (and the drinks afterwards), the rehearsal weekend and of course, the highlight of it all: the performance days.
I want this! Who should I contact?
