About English Theatre Utrecht

Mission and vision

Who we are

English Theatre Utrecht (ETU) is an amateur theatre initiative that brings English productions to the stage of Utrecht. It is our mission to connect the local and international residents of Utrecht and surroundings through a shared passion for theatre.

Anything you can do…

In 2017, an international group of actors was cast for a modern-language version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Utrecht’s Cultural Centre Parnassos. This group worked so well together, and the play was so well-received, that everyone decided that they wanted more! Some of the original cast and crew got together and created English Theatre Utrecht.

Feel free to come enjoy one of our plays, or get involved actively by joining our crew or cast!

“Even though the English Theatre of Utrecht are only in their second year they have already had great success including a stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, performed at the Theaterhuis De Berenkuil, which sold out.” – John Wilkins (Utrecht Central)
